DHL pop-up steals the show at Cape Town 7s

Treble was extremely proud to have organised and managed the DHL pop-up fan area at the 2017 HSBC Cape Town 7s, especially since it took centre stage again! The months of planning, building, branding and logistics certainly paid off! We are grateful to DHL for allowing us to partner with them to deliver this unforgettable experience!

Treble delivers world-class food & beverage solution at HSBC Cape Town 7s

Green Point, Cape Town – We saw the speed of sevens rugby illuminating the Mother City this past weekend, as supporters from across the globe gathered for the highly anticipated HSBC Cape Town 7s. The Blitzboks performed extremely well during Saturday’s qualifiers but, unfortunately, went down to the All Blacks in Sunday’s semi-finals. They were able to claim Bronze from Canada, though, while the Cape Town 7s title went to the All Blacks after they defeated Los Pumas in a thrilling final.

Treble Group is extremely honoured to have been part of this magnificent, action-packed event. Our operations team successfully delivered an unmatched food and beverage solution for the third year in a row, catering for over 100,000 rugby supporters, making sure that everyone remained refreshed and hydrated with a wide range of local food and drink options.

Franchise giants, Woolworths and Nando’s, set up deliciously healthy pop-up stores, which were buzzing with customers for conveniently priced meals. Woolworths set up shop at two major kiosks in the inner concourse of the stadium and several conveniently-located coffee kiosks on the outer concourse. Nando’s, meanwhile, prepared and sold hot, fresh chicken on the sport, from two extremely popular marquees. We are so glad to have had Woolworths and Nando’s joining us this year and we could see that the supporters agreed!

As usual, we partnered with South Africa’s brewmasters, SAB, to deliver rugby’s staple refreshment at Cape Town 7s. SAB dominated with multiple watering holes to satiate even the thirstiest of fans. There was a strong presence of their all-new Castle Free – 100% Lager and 0% Alcohol – which became a new favourite among supporters. Our operations team mapped out the logistics of the solution with military correctness and made certain that all points were sufficiently staffed to avoid long queues.

Cape Town 7s saw the return of so many favourite food trucks from previous years as well as several new additions to the delicious menu, plus numerous popular vendors that served from within the stadium’s kiosks. We pride ourselves on partnering with local brands, giving these small businesses the opportunity to shine, as well as with national names and franchises. We are extremely happy with the result of our food and kiosk management from this year and we look forward to working with such great people again.

Meanwhile, our communications team was deployed to capture the supporters dressed in the variety of crazy and striking costumes that have become the Cape Town 7s tradition, and to document the sheer atmosphere of this great event. Our team, the official agency for the Springbok Supporters’ Club media and communications, kept those South Africans who could not attend in the loop of the Cape Town 7s vibe.

Using the wealth of experience that we have gained from extensive event and food & beverage management, the Treble team was able to conceptualise and deliver another world-class service to the 100,000 consumers who filled the stadium with their roar. We are thankful for working with industry greats such as SA Breweries, Peninsula Beverages, Woolworths, Nando’s and Redbull, as well as the numerous popular food kiosk and food truck providers. We are also exceedingly grateful to SA Rugby for partnering with us at this international-standard event.

Treble Group congratulates Lifesaving South Africa on achieving Federation of the Year at the 2017 SA Sport Awards

Johannesburg – Lifesaving South Africa walked away with the prestigious title of Federation of the Year at the 2017 SA Sport Awards on November 12, 2017. Treble Group is extremely proud of LSA’s accomplishment and of what the hard work that our partnership has achieved.

LSA has been the national association for lifesaving and lifesaving sport since 1913, and has saved over 120,000 people from drowning in that time. Today, they are leading the fight against drowning with over 7,000 volunteer lifeguard patrolling beaches, lakes and pools across South Africa.

In December 2016, Treble began their exciting journey as the exclusive commercial and marketing partner to LSA by igniting General Tire’s sponsorship of the organisation. General Tire, a brand of Continental Tyre SA, has agreed to an initial three-year commitment to LSA with an initial budget of R5.2 million. As LSA’s primary sponsor, General Tire has assisted lifesaving clubs and members with duty kit and duty area equipment. General Tire has committed a media investment to elevate the profile of the organisation as well as the sport in South Africa. The media exposure delivered by Treble and General Tire has helped the sport of lifesaving to grow and compete with other national sporting codes.

Treble has also been integral in confirming HSH Princess Charlene of Monaco as Patron to Lifesaving South Africa and the initiation of an ongoing partnership with the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation SA. The partnership launched with a donation of 200 rescue craft to LSA, worth R2 million. Her involvement has added another dimension to a significant year for LSA.

In 2017, General Tire and LSA launched an active education program aimed at decreasing drowning-related tragedies among children and adults. The Watersmart programme is a classroom-based, educational water safety program developed to complement the current Grade 4 Life Orientation curriculum. The program, presented by LSA Watersmart facilitators, was delivered free-of-charge to 80 schools nationwide, reaching over 12,000 learners in its first year.

Treble has truly enjoyed the journey with Lifesaving South Africa so far. Congratulations to LSA on winning Federation of the Year. You truly deserve it and we are proud to have worked with you, General Tire and HSH Princess Charlene to showcase what you are made of! We look forward to creating many more memories like these in the future.

Treble takes part in the #egeXperience at the VS Gaming EGE Expo

International Convention Centre, Cape Town – This weekend saw Treble hitting the ground for the 2017 VS Gaming Electronics & Gaming Expo. Treble recently partnered with Impact Exhibitions and KFM to deliver this growing event, as well as securing VS Gaming as the title sponsor to the 2017 edition.

As part of their sponsorship of the event, VS Gaming hosted the South African DOTA2 Masters Grand Final at EGE this past weekend, which attracted the serious gaming spectators. VS Gaming also threw themselves into the thick of the event, engaging with exhibitors, attendees and cosplayers.

The cosplayers – or costume players – were some of the main spectacles at the event. Cosplayers are more than just fancy dressers, they are serious actors who temporarily take-up the look and personality of their favourite gaming, comic, television and film characters. There was excellent creative effort on the part of the cosplayers at this year’s expo who gave attendees a real treat with their over-the-top performances.

Attendees were also treated to wide range of gaming titles and gaming gadgets. The Sony PlayStation VR experience was particularly popular, showing players how futuristic consumer gaming can be. The stalls were filled with people of all ages, turning their heads and aiming their ‘guns’ in all directions!

The VS Gaming EGE experience did not stop at gaming and electronics, though. Attendees could compete in table-top and board games, and had their pick of memorabilia from the dozens of stalls that were present, which sold comic books, masks, ornaments and much more!

The main attractions were the gaming tournaments. The African Cyber Gaming League (ACGL) partnered with Zombie Gamers to host day-long tournaments all weekend, including such titles as Injustice 2, Call of Duty and FIFA. These tournaments attracted professional gamers from all over the country.

Of course, centre stage went to the VS Gaming DOTA2 tournament. Fans of the game were treated to an exciting last leg of the tournament, particularly in the final between White Rabbit Gaming and XTC Gaming, which saw the two sides playing off over five maps – a first in South African DOTA2 history. VS Gaming staged a world-class arena and spectator experience and gave the expo a high-calibre touch.

Treble was extremely thrilled to be a part for the #egeXperience this last weekend and was proud to work alongside Impact Exhibitions, KFM and VS Gaming.

Great moments from VS Gaming EGE 2017:
