On behalf of Treble Group, we would like to thank our sponsors, clients and partners for another stellar year!

We are truly grateful and honoured to have worked with you in creating world class 2015 events and activations. We appreciate the time, effort and generosity you have afforded Treble, Springboks Supporters Club and Club Newlands throughout the year.

The Treble team would like to wish you a safe and happy festive season with your families.

Here’s to more great things to come.

Treble appointed to deliver Food and Beverage Solution for Kaizer Chiefs “Cape of Love and Peace” Matches

The Treble Group is proud to announce that we have been awarded a 3-year contract to oversee the entire food and beverage solution for the Kaizer Chiefs Premier Soccer League matches at Cape Town Stadium, as well as to manage the corporate hospitality suites and business lounge. Treble Group will also manage the stadium’s digital advertising sales.

Cape Town football fans, here’s your chance to see the defending league champions, along with their galaxy of stars such as Siphiwe Tshabalala, George Lebese and Lorenzo Gordinho play at their “home-away-from-home”, the Cape Town Stadium.

This is the first of 3 “home fixtures” to be played in the Mother City by the Amakhosi, at the world class 55,000 seater Cape Town Stadium on Saturday, 19 December 2015.

This showpiece will be followed by 2 further “home games” for Chiefs against Platinum Stars on 24 January 2016 and against SuperSport United on 20 February 2016.

“The people of the Western Cape in general and all the way to the Eastern Cape have been calling for their favourite team to play closer to their home. We are confident they will come in their droves to support the Phefeni Glamour Boys, starting on 19 December”, said excited Stadium Management SA Chief Executive, Jacques Grobbelaar. “This is the same loyal legion of fans that travel thousands of kilometers on a regular basis to watch their team play at FNB Stadium and will make this a Cape of Love and Peace experience to treasure for everyone’s festive season.”

Treble has exciting, fully catered hospitality opportunities on offer (with or without the added benefit of advertising on the 2nd tier digital ad scroll boards) for each of these eagerly anticipated clashes.

For more information on how to secure one of the limited number of sought after premium view suites, please contact Andre Walters of Treble Group on 021 685 333 / 074 214 7078 or e-mail [email protected].

The Treble team is looking forward to bringing you the Amakhosi spirit, as well as a world class experience, to the Cape Town Stadium.

Treble at the 2015 Rugby World Cup

A letter from the Treble Group Managing Director, Kyle Nel.

I want to thank DHL for hosting Treble for the Rugby World Cup Semi-Finals and Final held in England. It was truly an amazing experience and privilege for us to partake in this unique experience.

After these 3 weeks in London, I wanted to share Selwyn and my Rugby World Cup experience. Overall there was outstanding attendance and massive TV audiences, confirming the Rugby World Cup as one of the major global sporting events.

Further observations were as follows: absolutely amazing operational delivery of the event; as well as simple but innovative sponsorship activations. The likes of DHL, MasterCard and Coca Cola had secured promotional space just outside Twickenham and cleverly engaged with the supporters to communicate their marketing position around their Rugby World Cup sponsorship.

On the hospitality front, the major Rugby World Cup sponsors all had great corporate hospitality set up within the stadium, where the client experience was first class with current and top VIP guests, such as; Warren Gatland, Gus Pichot, Schalk Britz (on match day), Williams and Nathan Sharpe, mingling and engaging with clients. The inner sanctum banter and stories from the Welsh, Argentina, Springboks, Australia and New Zealand camps, added to the clients appreciation, respect and understanding of each match.

Selwyn and I were fortunate to be invited by Andrew Burton, CEO of Rugby World Cup Travel and Hospitality, to experience their platinum hospitality solution. This was an amazing facility set up just metres away from Twickenham Stadium, within the precinct.

Named the Twickenham Pavilion, it is a double storey 3000 pax facility with amazing visuals, silver service, interactive areas, entertainment and world class Food and Beverage solution.

On entry, we were greeted by artists top to toe in rugby kit from the William Webb Ellis era, passing old leather rugby balls around to the guests all the way to the front entrance. On walking through the hall we were totally surrounded by big screens with footage and sound of the Rugby World Cup.

Ushered to our table on the upper tier and could look down on the hive of activity below. Amazing!

Treble at the Rugby World Cup

And then there was rugby! Simple pre match entertainment did not take away from the quality of the rugby played. Both the Semi-Finals and Final matches provided an unforgettable experience. The atmosphere in the stadium, and again the quality of sport, where oppositions sit side by side screaming for their teams and enjoying a beer together afterwards. Quality all around.

Bring on Super Rugby, the Rugby Championship and Rugby World Cup 2019!

2015 Spur and Springbok Supporters Club Flag Bearer Activation

Spur Steak Ranches has been a sponsor of Springbok Supporters Club since 2012 and has always generously supported Springbok Supporters Club events. Together, they have created the Spur Flag Bearers competition.

In May 2015, Spur Secret Tribe Members entered the Spur Flag Bearers competition at their local Spur. 60 Lucky Spur Mascots were granted the golden opportunity to hold our country’s flag during the national anthem at the Springbok test matches around the country.

They flew the country’s flag high when the Springboks took on the World XV in Cape Town, The All Blacks in Johannesburg and Argentina in Durban. Each child, and their family, was hosted at a Spur Steak Ranch for lunch and thereafter taken to the field to put on their patriotic show.

If you would like your child to be a Springbok Flag Bearer in 2016, stay tuned to Spur Steak Ranches website, Facebook and Twitter pages for more details!

Epic 11 month journey through 45 countries concludes

A team of seven who embarked on an epic journey from Cape Town through Africa to London in October 2014 as part of DHL’s Africa as One campaign, have finally arrived at their final destination after traveling through 45 countries.

During an 11-month journey, the team crossed 102 border posts, travelled 70,854 kilometers, spent over 856 hours on the road, all while introducing the game of rugby and what it represents to 3,370 children in Africa. The ambitious DHL Africa as One journey formed part of the build-up to Rugby World Cup 2015 in England, and involved the team passing a single rugby ball from hand to hand across Africa.

This first-of-its-kind campaign saw the team face many challenges, including terrain, security, health and safety issues. DHL Africa As One Team leader, Louise Otter, says that Africa is not for the faint-hearted.

“However, the incredible experiences along the way, from the local music and great ruins of Zimbabwe, snorkeling in Lake Malawi, learning about coffee and the Black Pharaohs in Ethiopia and Sudan, to name a few, kept the team going, and provided much encouragement and enthusiasm.

“Moments spent with locals across the continent have also been a highlight. When visiting Guinea Bissau last month, we discovered that rugby is an entirely new concept to the locals, and that many had never seen a rugby ball before.”

In order to make a lasting impact in the various countries visited, the journey also included rugby fairs as well as various CSR activities including free eye tests for over 4,000 people through DHL’s partnership with Mercy Ships and the distribution of over half a million units of stationery to young children across Africa.

Every step of the journey, every person, every place and every pass was captured on film, in photographs and words, and shared with Africa and the rest of the world. According to Megan Collinicos, Head of Advertising & Public Relations for DHL Express Sub Saharan Africa, the tour was not only about rugby, but about showcasing Africa to the rest of the world in all her beauty. “We wanted to make a difference in each country, as well as capture Africa in her everyday routine, highs and lows in order to share this beautiful continent with the rest of the world.”

“We decided to leverage the partnership in Africa, where rugby is relatively unknown in a number of markets. With this campaign, we wanted to marry our experience, knowledge and capabilities across the African continent with the concept of this ambitious journey – one that requires careful co-ordination and intricate logistics as well as significant investment.”

Collinicos adds: “Our dream of sharing Africa’s beauty and culture with the rest of the world is now a reality. We have received a fantastic response to our campaign with over 26 million YouTube views on our Africa As One country episodes to date,” concludes Collinicos.

DHL concluded their journey with a three-day activation in London, raising money for the United Nations World Food Programme’s (WFP) Tackle Hunger campaign. All donations received will help WFP to provide nutritious school meals to children in Africa.

Treble activated President’s Cup Finals Day at DHL Newlands

On Thursday, 24 September 2015, The President’s Cup Finals Day took place at DHL Newlands. Congratulations to Hamiltons RFC on displaying world class rugby and walking away the Present’s Cup Trophy!

The aim of the President’s Cup Finals Day was to showcase the incredible talent at club level and display the overwhelming support WP Club Rugby has from their local supporters.

The highlight of the day was the fact that supporters could enjoy a good day of club rugby and celebrate Heritage Day with a Bring ‘n Braai in the stadium, courtesy of TJ’s Braai. This added to the electric atmosphere and proudly Cape Town gees on the day.

The players’ highlight of the day was the Deep Heat area where they received a massage after a hard day of rugby.

Thank you to all the club supporters who made their way to DHL Newlands and congratulations to all our Super Fans who walked away with R500 cash and a DHL WP Rugby jersey! Congratulations to the Super Fan Teams, Hands and Hearts and Uni Mil supporters, who showed the most spirit on the day. The two teams walked away with a R5000 donation towards their club! All the Super Fan prizes were generously donated by Castle Lager.

The crowd a DHL Newlands thoroughly enjoyed this unique experience. This could not have been done without the support of the official sponsors on the day: Castle Lager SA, TotalSports, Powerade, Deep Heat, DHL, Builders Warehouse and TJ’s Braai. A huge thank you to our media partners: Cape TV, Bok Radio, Die Burger and Good Hope Fm.

What an incredible way to end of the season. We look forward to bigger and better President’s Cup Final’s Day in 2016!
